Where have you been?

So I realized it has been a while since we talked. What have I been up to? Well get ready this is going to be a LOONNNG one! Well since I last left you the next day this happened.....

Yes my pretty car is not so pretty. Someone decided I did not go thru a fourway stop fast enough and I was T-boned. I have been fighting with insurance for the last two months and still have some unresolved issues, but I have my car back, mostly in one piece.

Then a week later we finally left on our honeymoon. That was not without it's own drama but I will leave that for another post in the near future. I promise!
Us happy before leaving Houston and finding out there would be 1200 kids on the boat!

We were gone for 10 days and ready for a vacation the day we got back! Once we landed in the airport we got the news that P did not in fact get the transfer to Austin. Strike 2. They needed someone right away and his branch could not release him for another month. Need less to say we where very dispointed as we feel good a bout the chances of getting this transfer. It was back to work and dealing with car issues. No rest for the weary!

We did make it up to the Austin area to eat at Casino El Camino, as featured on diners, drive-in and dives. I love that show and I now love Casino's salsa verde chili cheese fries. SOOOO GOOD! We then stopped in NB and then made our way to Helotes to see Reckless Kelly. The next day we floated the river with some friends and it was LOW, low, low!

We also visited with P parents and I got to see some of our "stuff". We moved everything out of the storage unit to his parents after the wedding and now have the two back bedrooms packed to the brim. I kept waking in the middle of the night to make sure no boxes or the hide away couch that was on its side were going to fall on our head. Seriously we have some crap! When we get a house I am sure we will have to have a garage sell to get rid of a bunch of stuff we no longer want!

I started school on Aug 19th and after Dec 4th I will be a certified Paralegal. I have been wanting to do this for a while but the timing was not right. So far I am doing good as I just finished week 4 and my first midterm memo. Hopefully with this, a real estate license and a notary public I can find a job in Austin in Dec-Jan!

So our plan now is to stay put thru the end of the year and I finish school and P get his bonus. After that we will be hitting the Austin job market hard! We are both ready for a life change and just have to take it one step at a time. I know god has a plan for us and we can not rush it.

With that I bid you good night and ya"ll come back now ya hear!?!

Time flies

So we have been up to everything and nothing all at the same time. We had my family in for a weekend. We took Dani to Jon Jon's Cinco De Mayo party, we wen to the first Astros game of the tickets I bought Mr. K for his birthday. We got all the plates for the wedding, my dress came in and is getting altered as we speak, I am meeting the florist today, invitations have gone out, shower invitations have gone out, I ordered my passport this week, Ladies and Gentlemen, we are on the offical wedding countdown!!!

It is very nerve racking to say the least! I always said once I had the dress it would be real and it is now. Payment for everything is coming due and we still have no idea about the groom cake which is driving me crazy and I have to get all the music together and figure out how I am routing sound thru out the wedding/reception area. This maybe getting put on Mr. K shoulders to find something that will work and we can use in our house in the future.

This weekend had promise to be a busy one, to which after a long weekend last weekend and the realization how soon the wedding is and many unavoidable busy weekends leading up to the wedding, I but a halt to many of this weekends options. We had talked about going to Strawberry Festival and see Wade Bowen and maybe go to the HOB but all of these things we did not have set in stone and no one was expecting us to go so I opted to save the money and do some of my many wedding projects I have over my head around the house. I think Mr. K is a bit disappointed and he may be going to visit his parents with the potental break this weekend. Wade Bowen is his favorite of the TX country artist so I do feel bad not wanting to go but I am also working on Sunday and since the Rockets are going on to game 7 it will be a BUSY day.

So I hope everyone has a great weekend with whatever they choose to do or not do!

Cinco de Mayo

So it is officially less that TWO months before oue wedding! I picked up my wedding dress last week and am getting it altered to hopefully have it ready for my bridal portraits on May 15th. I am paying off the house this week and all I have left is mail the invitations, find Patrick's clothes, pay the florist, photographer, figure out where the cakes are coming from, and make the playlist for the MP3 player. Which in my head did not seem like that much....Hmmm. I need to get on it!

So this weekend my family came into town and we had get together to remember my gramma who passed away last April. Patrick has met most my family before this weekend but was able to meet the rest of my mom- side of the family this weekend. Everyone seems to like one and other. Apparently they all liked him as there was much discussion about him after we left to go to another party that evening. I took my wedding dress with me and everyone got to see it while Patrick wandered around the yard, waiting to be let back in the house. Next we took Dani with us to Jon Jon's annual Cinco de Mayo party where they where in full swing and everyone had a good time. Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast with the family still in town and came home with our movies from redbox and did nothing! It was great! We both needed a do nothing day.

So that is the doing of us. We have heard nothing on a transfer yet but looking in The Scoop (bb company newsletter) They have hired 2 new people in NB which we hope is for the school route and not that Patrick got overlooked.

This week I am taking off Weds. to take Patrick to the Astros game from some of the tickets I got him for his birthday. Now to figure out were to go to lunch. I'm thinking P.F. Changs since he loves pei wei and has never had it. I have a Dre pool day and crawfish night Thursday so I am very excited about this week!

Blah

So apparently I have a lot to catch you all up on in the world of us so get your coffee and sit awhile!
My sister jess and I went and looked at wedding dresses for her wedding next year. Here are a few she tried on:

She was excited to find something she liked. We also attended some Houston Rodeo, I was given tickets for Reba and Pat Green but I bought some awesome Brad Paisley tickets. He puts on a good show and he is man pretty!

After taking road trips all of February mostly in my Mustang, Patrick got jealous of my easy ability to play our MP3 players in the car, I jokingly told him then he should get a new truck. His Tacoma we had to plug this thing in and find a radio station not near any other. But really nothing else was wrong with his truck. WELL Patrick got the new truck bug! So 2 weeks later TADAH! Patrick's F150 King Ranch. It is very nice and has every bell and whistle one can want. And he is a happy camper cause finally he has a Ford family. What guy does not want a big truck and a convertible mustang!

In my wedding news, We have most all little things, I got the save the dates out

I am very excited that they turned out exactly how I wanted them too!

I also got the opportunity to watch a couple of the smallest McKenizes' for a day. THis was find but me cause I wanted to see the Pirates at Space Center. Well the commercial is VERY misleading and I did not see one pirate and the treasure hunt was easy since it is 6 displays at the front of the compound. Of all the things the kiddos saw this was their favorite toy........
Yes the water fountain! We had a good day but there was a tantrum or three but who is counting right!?!?
And yes my mustang can hold 2 carseats! Thou I don't see getting one baby carrier in and out contently. After Space Center we had McDonalds and it was time for a movie in bed and quiet time. Well that lasted til the last 15 mins of Bolt. Then they really wanted to play Wii. Wii is really great for 3-4 year old only if you have the 3 year old "thinking he is playing" by just giving him the controler!

How funny! Anyways that is the bulk of what has been going on in our world. Also we made a road trip in the new truck to my parents and I will try to blog about that later today.

Now I have to go and run 100 errands... no really everything froma crash phone, to someone hit my car at work (and then came back the next day and left me a note and called the bar to make sure I got the note!) to changing my name (I know I have been divorced how long and I have not done this?!?!) all so I can get my passport cause I really don't wanna me told no when we get to go on the honeymoon. So I am off! More updates later

Blogging Babble

So March is here and I have not blogged quite as much as I thought I would. However I did have big plans of blogging-
meals I cooked to put up pictures (all still on the camera)
Of our trip to Port A (still in camera also)
Wedding things I love or jave bought
Daiky antics and other things.....Well as you see none is on here.

Well hello March,
This month I plan to enjoy outside more. I would like to make an effort to write three times a week. I want to finish organizing our closet, (just so P can get the transfer and us move). Also March can you keep the weather nice? I really would like to be able to drive with the top down as much as possible. This week I am ordering my wedding dress and invitations so I would like to get healthier (No fried food that I love some much I can not eat you til I lose the 20 love pounds P gave me!) and also get more organized. Ms. March please help me with these items as this is as close to giving up things for lint as I get.

The wedding plans are going wonderful. We have the place, I know who is catering, I have all the centerpiece containers, ribbon, decorations for the sign in table and cake table. As far as decorations I just have sewing projects and lighting to buy. Since we are going for a smaller weddding I love that I get to have every detail I want. I really keep checking my list to see if I forgot something. Well this evening I hope to upload photos and may back log some blogs...We will see how this goes.

Happy Heart

So this weekend was an exciting one for me. Was it it allure of Valentines Day? Nope. Did P send me flowers? nope. Chocolate? Nope. Jewelry? Nope. Then what in the world had me so excited? P and I went to go look at houses to hold our wedding! Friday night I was so excited, that I did not go to sleep til 3:30 in the morning and I woke up at 7:30 am! Yes, I was little kid on x-mas morning excited. So why you may wonder was I SOOOO excited over looking at the outside of houses I have been looking at online for 2 months? Well lets back up to Monday night.

Monday P called me while I was at work and told me he was working on Sunday this week and I mentioned well then I may take my sister to look at the houses on Friday that I had narrowed the list down to. He did not seemed thrilled and mentioned that he still did not have the day off. GRRRR. For those of you that do not know I came up with the fourth of July as a wedding date in a dream while I was visiting my parents several months before we got engaged. It was very vivid! So of course when P proposed I told him I really wanted to do it then and it is nowhere close to his or my previous wedding anniversaries. Plus it works well with our backyard BBQ family wedding we wanted. So from his call to my own neurosis I managed to think that P did not really want to have a wedding and he had mentioned getting married at the JP or off on a cruise before. So I had a meltdown. I came home and sat on the couch and bacisally told him he could plan our wedding! Just plan a trip or tell me the day we where going to the JP but I was not going to plan everything myself, it was suppose to be about both of us and I did not want to runaway and get married but he was my wedding plan stress! I caught him a little (IE VERY) offguard! He did not realize he was stressing me and felt horrible and apologized over and over. I think he was more freaked out cause I ended up crying and he has not seen me cry ever!

So weds on his off day he kept calling his boss to verify he had the day off (in the ice cream world that is a busy day) and came to visit me at work to look at houses and plan the honeymoon. This making me VERY happy that he was good to his promise of being helpful!

So we got alot done in our 450 mile trip in 8 hours. We looked at all the houses and I do have to say some people are great photographers cause they were nothing like the websites. So without further ado....

http://www.vrbo.com/187549

We will be renting the Oppelt Haus for the weekend.

After looking at the houses we stopped by hobby lobby to get some wedding stuff while it was half off and my cake stand, also looked at the place for the dinner the night before and caters. I believe the winner will be Bill Millers with Rudy's BBQ sauce for P. And everyone is happy!

So a busy day yesterday. Today will be my kitchen day. I am off to cook to feed Mr. P since he is working everyday til Weds. But hey he got Saturday off this next week so we will be off to Corpus and Port A. for offshore fishing! So now to make some yummies!
